Cooling

Cooling is an increasingly significant problem within the hosting/Data Center industry, as most facilities were not built to support the load generated by today’s multi-core processors, expanding disk sizes and other modern equipment requirements.

ServerVault has developed a redundant HVAC system that provides for the highest level of reliability. Cooling is provided to the client’s environment via patented ducted racks that provide optimum cooling distribution. Cooling is provided through twelve (12) 20-ton computer-room air handling units distributed throughout the data vaults. Chilled water for the air-handling units is provided by a system of three (3) 102-ton rooftop chillers. At design load, two chillers handle cooling the vaulted areas with one in permanent standby mode.

The data center cooling system is controlled by an automated BMS system that is monitored 24x7x365. In addition to redundant chillers and STULZ AC units, the chilled water loop has redundant chilled water pumps.

The online chillers and STULZ units are rotated on a monthly basis to insure operability in the event of equipment failures.

ServerVault’s patented rack systems deliver significant cooling directly to the intake area of servers. This gives ServerVault a distinct advantage over the competition in our ability to host high density solutions.
