Why Did ServerVault Develop FCAP?

There is a gap in the marketplace in achieving supportable, compliant and cost-effective managed hosting solutions for Federal Agencies.

Historically (and even today), Government IT solutions are predominantly implemented on premise, with dedicated infrastructure, dedicated delivery teams (usually system integrators), dedicated operations infrastructure (monitoring, backups, etc.), and individual policies and procedures.

It’s as if Government organizations were implementing mini-hosting companies for each of their required applications. In this model, there is rarely any leveraging of resources across Programs and applications in order to achieve efficiencies and economies. And with this structure, little incentive exists for the teams that support these environments (mostly system integrators) to modify or improve on this model, as this may result in reduced FTEs needed to support the project – and thus, reduced revenue for the respective system integrator teams.

The result is commonly a dissatisfied Federal Agency, with concerns regarding delivery of the functionality and security of their IT solution, with increasing pressure to achieve results faster, with higher quality and at lower cost.
